Autumn leaves 2018

Autumn leaves is a painting that is part of the series “Secret Gardens”, a series in which I delve into the theme of nature through the analysis of details: a bush of grass, a ray of light that runs through the branches of a tree, flowers that overlook the open sky or, as in this case, the leaves, the autumn colors that still cling to their branches before the wind sweeps them away. Starting from an extremely figurative image, I approached the subject and I painted abstracting the composition, freeing it of any figurative tie and putting in the foreground what interests me most, the color and the light.
Of course, during the elaboration of the painting I listened and listened to the song Autumn Leaves by Miles Davis, a sure source of inspiration.
